    Online Therapy in Florida

Florida is a big state with uneven access to specialized care. Working by secure video removes the drive, the waiting room, and the guessing about whether the one available therapist nearby happens to know this territory.

Sessions are held with adults physically located in Florida. The work is trauma-informed and paced — stabilization first, deeper processing when your system is ready for it.

    Statewide by video

Clients join from across the state — the Tampa Bay area, Orlando, Jacksonville, South Florida, the Panhandle, and the Gulf Coast. If you're in the Bay area and searching locally, the Tampa betrayal trauma page covers that work specifically.

Telehealth also makes continuity easier: travel for work, a move across the state, or a season where leaving the house is hard doesn't have to interrupt therapy.

    What the work covers

    Betrayal trauma and infidelity recovery

Intrusive images, checking, and the loss of self-trust after discovery. This is the practice's specialty.

    Individual therapy

Anxiety, grief, and patterns that keep resurfacing — individual therapy is the container for most of this work.

    Couples therapy

Disclosure, accountability, and repair with both partners participating. See couples therapy.

    Accelerated Resolution Therapy

For memories and images that stay vivid, ART works with the image directly rather than through repeated retelling.

    Frequently asked questions

Which parts of Florida do you serve?

All of it. Because sessions are held by secure video, clients join from Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Orlando, Jacksonville, Miami, Naples, and smaller communities in between. What matters legally is that you are physically located in Florida during the session.

    Is there an in-person office?

No. The practice is online only, which is what makes statewide access possible.

    What does Sarah focus on?

Betrayal trauma and relationship injury — infidelity, secrecy, broken trust — along with anxiety, nervous-system regulation, and relationship patterns.

    What are Sarah's credentials?

Sarah Shortridge is a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern (RCSWI), Florida registration ISW22268, practicing under the supervision of a qualified licensed clinical supervisor.

What if I move or travel out of state?

Therapy can continue while you are located in Florida or Washington, D.C. If you relocate elsewhere, we discuss referrals, or coaching, which is a separate non-clinical service.

    Do you take insurance?

Private pay only. Fees are discussed during your consultation.
